My Log Cabin Dream
Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things
which escape those who dream only by night. Edgar Allan Poe, "Eleonora"I had a dream to have a small log cabin wherein I would live alone to ponder the world, to read, to write. This is a photo of a log cabin that for a fleeting moment could be mine. It had to be moved off the lot on which it existed and my husband thought we could do it. As it turned out, the cost would have been greatly prohibitive because to buy a lot near it would cost a million dollars to buy (you read correctly) and to buy a lot on an affordable lot would require moving the cabin many miles away at a great, great cost.
As it turned out, someone I work with made a deal with the owner of the cabin and together they purchased a nearby lot and the cabin will be moved and then be re-sold for a profit. It seems a sorry end to my dream, but I guess it was not to be.
I wish I had taken a picture of the cabin as it was. It was so sweet. This is the picture of it now with the front porch taken off in preparation for the move.
